It's been awhile......

Oh my goodness, I hope I make it through this blog, my computer is really acting up lately.  I have to apologize too because this batch of pictures isn't the greatest.  I took them with my phone.  Note to self, don't forget your camera!!

So, I am on the mend.  The surgery wasn't that bad.  Glad it's over though and I can move on!!!  The worst part was being sick after from the anesthesia.  Not pleasant.  So, since then I've been a good girl.................kind of.  I mean really, how long can you lay on the couch?  By Sunday I couldn't stand it anymore and made my husband drive me up to Clayton to see Mom at the quilt show...more on that below...

On Monday my Sister and her daughter Katie came over.  Their trip was planned before I learned about my surgery and she wanted to cancel but I wouldn't hear of it.  We had a great time.  She did all the driving and we did manage to do a little shopping and went out to breakfast at the best place in the world, Tin pan galley in Sackets Harbor.  The proof is in the photos...

Me.....creme brulee french toast.
My sister Lisa with the special, Challah bread french toast covered with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries with a vanilla glaze.

Katie with their famous stuffed french toast with fresh strawberries.
Mom with chicken and asparagus hash with roasted red potatoes.
Suffice it to say that none of us finished even half and we can eat so that's saying a lot (especially Mom.........I'm not kidding)
A good time was had and I think it really helped my healing process along.  Thanks for coming over Sis and Katie!

So, as I mentioned above, 4 days after my surgery, loaded up on percocet, hubby chauffeured me up to the quilt show. Here's some of the beauties that were on display...

I just love the antique quilts....

Imagine my surprise when I saw one of my designs in the show.  Margaret Swords (sorry if I've gotten the name wrong) entered and won a ribbon!

A winner for one of our regular ladies Tamara.  Congratulations Tamara!

Love the blues!!

Cute!

Wow, just wow!!

Tamara, is this you again, or is it you Jill?  Remember I had taken percocet!

Love the simplicity, but look at that stitching...

I was so darned proud of Mom!!  Though I could not get her to take the ipad for credit cards (she said no thanks, she's old school) she did a great job.  Look at the nice display she set up.

She had a great time, she's such a chatty Cathy.  She loves what she does and reminds me daily how lucky she is to be doing what she loves, but we all know that I'm the lucky one to be able to partner with her!!

I have lots more pictures but think I'll end here for now and share more tomorrow.  I don't want to be a blog hog!!
Come back tomorrow, I'm on the mend and promise to be better about keeping up!
Until next time......

Glad you are on the mend! I think it was the French toast that healed you. Your booth looks wonderful and I think you and your mom are lucky to have each other!

About Me

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my blog. I am married and just entering the second phase of my life as a Army retiree's wife. My husband and I did 25+ years in the Army. He is now officially a retired Colonel and has just entered the civilian workforce and I am happily settled in our 1830 Stone house. I (along with my Mom) operate www.theoldtatteredflag and currently we are building a small shop in the back part of the house. We live in Northern NY, right near the Canadian border. I have two handsome sons and 2 puggles. Life is busy for us, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
