Happy Place Giveaway!! .....and some business...

Well, first let me get the business out of the way.  My facebook account was hacked.....I think.  For some reason some people on my email distro list received up to 4 emails yesterday from me asking for them to "like" me.  I DID NOT initiate this, so I had to change my password just to be on the safe side.  I do not pester people on my email list.  When I was setting up my facebook account I believe it accessed my email list to ask people to "like" me, but as far as I know that is the only time it ever has, and I wouldn't want to keep doing that.  I only send out emails for my newsletter or for special sales or giveaways.  So, if you are on my email list and get something fishy, just delete it.

Speaking of giveaways......we are giving away the hooked flower pin cushion, scissors and 3 rolls of valdani you see below.  All you have to do is reply with the answer to this question: "Where is my happy place".  You have to answer or you won't be signed up for the prize.  You can answer here, through an email to me, theoldtatteredflag@yahoo.com or on facebook.

My happy place is here in my studio.  Sometimes I play music loud, sometimes I just sit with no noise at all.  It just calms me, I can feel my stress level reducing by the second.   My husband laughs at me when I say "going out to my happy place".  So, think about where yours is and let us know.  Remember that your answer will be seen by all, so "keep it clean", (although that could be interesting), LOL!
Have a great day everyone and sorry if you received those emails!
Until next time.....

Oh my happy place is not just a place it's the things around it that make it my happy place. Sitting in my nice leather chair my husband bought me for hooking, a frame in my lap, worship music playing, a cup of coffee, watching the birds while hooking.

I think we all have much in common. My happy place is my hooking room, sitting on the couch hooking with Ellie nearby. I sit in total quiet ~ not even the radio. Very calming for me.
Thanks for the chance to win.
Pug hugs :)

My Yahoo email account was hacked last week too! It is a real pain but not much we can do about it I guess! Just wish the hackers would get a life!

What a lovely giveaway! My happy place is with needle and thread in my hand! I find it sooooooo relaxing as well! I can be in my basement where I'm suppose to work or in the family room with the back door open listening to the birds chirp as I stitch!

Got to love hackers, yes?~ NOT!!!!! Your prize is so Americana
and patriotic. I adore it...My happy place is in the stillness of
a late night or early morning, when everyone in our family is asleep.
Then, I can be in my comfy chair, reading a book.
Many thanks, Cindi

Sorry about the hackers---they need a life. My happy place is anywhere I am with family and special friends. My second happy place is my sewing room, either piecing a quilt or hooking a new rug. Love the give away, thanks for the chance.

My 'Happy Place' is also in my studio - either dead quiet or blasting music - just like you! I don't have a TV in there so I get a lot done!

My happy place is being on my back porch with a hand-sewing project in my hands. Enjoying nature is nearly as satisfying as creating a hand project.

My happy place is my quilting room now also rug hooking room. Of course, I call my home my sanctuary and if you are invited there you are indeed special. So really, my home is my happy place...

Julie,
My happy place is sitting in my new backyard and enjoying all the sights around. I sit on a concrete paver pad under my oak, maple and pine trees. For the first time since I sold my farm and moved into the city, I now have a backyard with high privacy fence on three sides. Directly out the back is a waist high lattice fence which gives me a beautiful view of the conservation area. With Piper curled up on the cool pavers, I have been known to hook a few loops - sometimes from one of the kits I bought from you.

Our army friends all look at us like we have two heads because we prefer to live in the boonies with no one around. We just enjoy peace, quiet and nature. There's nothing wrong with that right?

Just figured out how to post. I am lucky to live close to Julie and her mom's (Carol?) studio. Two friends and I visited her today and told her our happy places. My happy place is our swing watching the grandkids play in the pool.

My Happy place is on my back porch, on my swing. When we have a gathering it is the most favorite seat on the porch. When one person gets up there is always another waiting to swing. It is also my favorite place to rug hook, punch needle or read my favorite rug hooking magazine during the summer months.

My happy place was hooking day at The old tattered flag, planing a new project, touching the newest wool. Sitting with old and new friends sharing life stories.

Of course my sewing/hooking room is a happy place for me, like many of us. But I think my happiest place is in my yellowkayak, in the middle of a lake reading book or checking out the scenery. But all of this happiness is secondary to spending time with my family, especially my 2 yr old granddaugther, Miss Sydney. She makes any place the happiest of all!

Well, I'm not sure if you saw my "Embarrassing vacation photo's" post. I love kayaking too, but on our last venture my husband fell while getting out of his and pulled me down with him in a very cold Lake Champlain. So normally I would agree with you, it is very peaceful and serene out on the water, but that day was a tad different. Of course he got the worst of it, fell right on a rock and had a BLACK and blue bruise for quite awhile, in fact he might still have it!! Thanks for posting!

About Me

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my blog. I am married and just entering the second phase of my life as a Army retiree's wife. My husband and I did 25+ years in the Army. He is now officially a retired Colonel and has just entered the civilian workforce and I am happily settled in our 1830 Stone house. I (along with my Mom) operate www.theoldtatteredflag and currently we are building a small shop in the back part of the house. We live in Northern NY, right near the Canadian border. I have two handsome sons and 2 puggles. Life is busy for us, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
