......and the winner of our Wool Bundle Giveaway is.......

Colleen Kibbeu!!!  You have won our Wool Bundle Giveaway.  I have emailed you already, so get back to me with your address and we'll get it right out in the mail.  Congratulations!!  and thanks to everyone who entered, we'll have another raffle shortly...

and the wool bundle goes to Colleen Kibbeu!!

Well, it's officially spring here in Missouri.  We have had temps in the 60's and low 70's for the past few days, the daffodils are almost past, and buds are on the trees.  Everything is starting to green up.  I'm not sure how I feel about this because I know that summer in Missouri is wicked hot (yes, I did say wicked, I'm from New England).  100 degrees is the norm here in the summer and I'm not a fan of that intense heat.  As you know I don't like the cold either, geez, make up your mind, right?  Where is the perfect place to live, and no, Annette, it's not Evans Mills!! LOL!
Anyway, with spring comes the swap meet.  There is a really neat antique store about 2 miles from my house and every Saturday and Sunday they have a swap meet in their parking lot.  There is a lot of junk, but, treasures are always found somehow.....

Olde Towne Antiques, Rolla, MO.

Inside the store.....

They have awesome "store fronts", it's just like walking through an old western town and the place goes on forever.

Swap meet....

more swap meet.....

Looks like Mom got a new (old) dresser......she said in the car on the way home, "of course you know I now have to repaint my room to match the dresser".  Good god!

Hmmm, I wonder what Julie has in mind for these wooden ammo crates??

Awwww, this guy was at the swap meet too!

Really Mom??

and, again, what's Julie going to do with these??

"think they brought home a treat from the swap meet?"

Day lillies in the yard....spring is here!

This cute pin cushion was in a booth at the antique mall.  Cute idea for your leftover wool scraps!!

Sing Baxter, sing!!!  Every time we come home I holler, "Helllloooooo" and he answers me....

A neat old display rack for my hand dyed floss!

Mom weeding!!  She's got a long way to go and unfortunately I have a brown thumb!!  That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Wool Bundle ~ April

My name is Julie and I have an addiction.  I actually had a moment of sadness Wednesday night when I ate the last of my jelly beans (these particular ones were the sweetart ones, but the jolly ranchers and starburst ones are good too)  Last night I had to run into Walgreens and Lo and Behold!!! their Easter Candy was 75% off.  I came home with 6 bags of jelly beans.  What is wrong with me??

We are always working on new things so keep checking here or the website often, I'm building up quite a pile of primitive finished goodies that I hope to get on this week and I also have filmed the punch needle video.........ok, I should tell you that Mom filmed me and I'm not really sure how it will be, I have to take a look.  She's a great hooker, but no Cecile B. Demille, so I'll have to see how she did, but I hope to get it uploaded within the next couple days.

Until next time....

About Me

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my blog. I am married and just entering the second phase of my life as a Army retiree's wife. My husband and I did 25+ years in the Army. He is now officially a retired Colonel and has just entered the civilian workforce and I am happily settled in our 1830 Stone house. I (along with my Mom) operate www.theoldtatteredflag and currently we are building a small shop in the back part of the house. We live in Northern NY, right near the Canadian border. I have two handsome sons and 2 puggles. Life is busy for us, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
