Good things.......

Well, hubby headed back to Afganistan this morning. We had a very nice two weeks, but very busy. The first week is always great, like your on a honeymoon again, but then the second week is tough because you know what's at the end of the week, the saying goodbye again. But.......it's only for another 2 months or so, so the worst is over and dare I say I hope this is the last time. Surely I jest!! The Army decided it would be fun to have him leave at 6:30, so since we live an hour away we had to get up at 3:30, which means I am not really functioning today. I know there are people who are morning people, but I just don't get it. Yea,yea, the sunrise is pretty, but you have to get up so damn early to see it!! Today was a 3 cup of coffee day!
Just thought I'd add some pictures. As you can see Mom is busy hooking my Butter Mold Chair pad series and we have three available now, but she just brought down the fourth so I'll be adding it soon. I also have my "Autumn Romance" Rug Pattern ready to go. It is very big at 28 x 28. Available on ebay and www.theoldtatteredflag.com
I also wanted to add a couple of nice pictures. The sunflower was taken by me, first one of the year. My son Jeremy took the silo shot. He is taking photography his senior year and I think he might have an eye for it. I think he might have some of my creativeness, although he would never admit it.
Summer is really in full swing and we are enjoying it, but hate to admit that the "fall" craft fairs start soon so we are working on fall and winter stuff now. Ugh! Have a great summer night!
Until next time........

I'm glad you had a good visit with your hubby! You both are very strong to go through all the separations. Again, I truly appreciate both of your sacrifices in keeping our nation safe. The chair pads are just elegant. I love the whole idea of the butter molds. You are so creative and talented!! Nice photos. Don't you love it when your kids start to shine in something creative? I know what a great feeling of joy that can bring!!
Have a great Sunday,
Courtney

About Me

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my blog. I am married and just entering the second phase of my life as a Army retiree's wife. My husband and I did 25+ years in the Army. He is now officially a retired Colonel and has just entered the civilian workforce and I am happily settled in our 1830 Stone house. I (along with my Mom) operate www.theoldtatteredflag and currently we are building a small shop in the back part of the house. We live in Northern NY, right near the Canadian border. I have two handsome sons and 2 puggles. Life is busy for us, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
