Woolwrights Hook-in....

As I told you in my last post we just returned from Lancaster, PA and the hook-in with the Woolwrights Rug Hooking guild.  What a wonderful rug hooking event.  Mom and I want to give kudos to the wonderful guild and especially the organizers for a very well run event.  I'd like to especially thank Darlene for taking such good care of us in our room.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am always in awe of the talent of the ladies who attend and all the great vendors.  If you love any kind of fiber arts then you'll know what I mean when you get that feeling when you walk into the room that is filled with such talented women rug hooking.  Just walk around the room of a hook-in and know that if you have any questions at all about our craft that someone will be there to help you.  Hookers are just plain and simply nice ladies!!  I often get asked what you do when you go to a hook-in, and the answer simply is..."breathe it in".  Breathe in the colors, the talent, the expertise, the wonder of a new hooker, the textures.....breathe in everything.  You will no doubt leave a hook-in a better person having shared in the art that we all love.
I did not get as many photos as I would have liked.  We were set up in a room away from the actual hooking, but I did manage to break away for a few minutes.  Here's what I captured.....

Our Booth during a busy moment

Mom and Jill....the sign above them is what I painted on a quiet Sunday afternoon (I had referred to it in my last post)

I snapped this picture of this woman's purse as she was shopping in our booth......fabulous!!!

Room #2.....lots of goodies

Hi Betsy!

Beautiful yarns....

Look at the colors!!

Here's where the real fun happens...

I see you Dawn!!

Guild members....I think...

Rugs on display

Beautiful hand dyed silks and velvets from LC's Wool-n-Silk

These rugs are fabulous...Deb Henkel from Handmaiden designs

So, as I said "breathe it in".  I hope these pictures inspired you just a little bit.  If you ever get a chance to attend a hook-in, you won't be sorry.  Maybe you'll run into us at one of them.  Visit www.theoldtatteredflag.com and check out our Events section to see where we are going to be this year.

Until next time.....
