We've had a nice couple of rejuvenating days. On Friday Mom and I drove up to St. Louis and of course had to hit Joann's and Hobby Lobby for our craft fix. After lunch at Olive Garden we headed over the the "Festival of the Little Hills" in St. Charles. What a nice festival. There were 300 craftsman and lots of good food booths, and live music. It was all along the brick lined street and along the river. Of course we managed to get a few goodies.
Saturday morning we participated in the "Run for the Fallen" on Fort Leonard Wood.
We walked 3.1 miles for a good cause. We can never forget those who have paid the ultimate price and their families.
At about mile 2.5 Mom recited her whole breakfast order to me, so we headed to Cracker Barrel afterwards!!

This little cutie was in a jewelry booth. He wasn't dancing, but was trying to get another dog's attention.... |
We ran into Chris Farr who owns The Sunshine Shed. She makes the most wonderful primitive ceramic pieces. She has this great technique of painting them to look rusty. Love this owl Mom got!! Check out her stuff: www.thesunshineshed.com I hadn't seen Chris for 6 years and always loved her stuff, I have several pieces. It was good to see her! Her daughter also makes the most amazing jewelry: http://www.tommicrystaldesigns.com/ I think it's important to promote our Made in the USA artists......and these are two good ones!! |
So, I haven't mentioned this yet, because we still have a couple more weeks worth of work to do, but Mom and I are going to debut our "Artsy Phartsy" section on the website very soon. We have been collecting neat "gently used" clothing and are jazzing it up with stitching/scarves/handmade stitched or vintage looking jewelry. We will also have handmade wool capes, cover ups, ponchos, etc and purses in addition to some other goodies. We are very excited for this. Keep watching for it in the next few weeks.

The other day I was watching the St. Louis news and was pleasantly surprised to see a story about two hookers. They have taken on the challenge of hooking a rug for each President. It was interesting. If you'd like to watch the video click here (and I love the title):
And last but not least, we love to have Giveaways, but this time it's not us, but my Sister. She has decided to have a Giveaway. Read about it at:
