Patty Yoder's amazing work.....

As promised, here is a small sampling of some of Patty Yoder's work.  She was a rug hooker from Vermont and her family has set up an exhibit at the Shelburne Museum so more people could see her amazing work.  As you can see, she loved her sheep and they were often the subjects of her rugs.  I think she primarily hooked with a #6 cut, but just look at some of that fine detail.....beautiful!

See the hidden "K".  I didn't notice it until I got home and looked at my photos, I was actually showing you the beautiful "linen stripe" look border.  I wonder what the significance of the "K" is, if anyone knows we'd love to know....

So true......

Come back tomorrow for more.....
Until next time...

  1. I saw many of Patty Yoder's rugs at Sauder Village a number of years ago. They are truly magnificent!!! What a shame that such a talent passed so young.
    Thanks for sharing.

  3. By the way my sister tells me that Patty Yoder did a rug and series called "The Alphabet of Sheep", hence the "K" you see in the photo. Interesting!
