As promised, here is a small sampling of some of Patty Yoder's work. She was a rug hooker from Vermont and her family has set up an exhibit at the Shelburne Museum so more people could see her amazing work. As you can see, she loved her sheep and they were often the subjects of her rugs. I think she primarily hooked with a #6 cut, but just look at some of that fine detail.....beautiful!
So true...... Come back tomorrow for more..... Until next time... |
I saw many of Patty Yoder's rugs at Sauder Village a number of years ago. They are truly magnificent!!! What a shame that such a talent passed so young.

DeleteYes, I agree, such a shame!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way my sister tells me that Patty Yoder did a rug and series called "The Alphabet of Sheep", hence the "K" you see in the photo. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteLove hearing about all rug hookers. Think it is a great craft/art
